Emotional & Binge Eating Coaching: Make Peace with Food Without Another Diet
Virtual eating psychology coaching for busy adults who eat when they’re stressed, tired, lonely, or overwhelmed, or who feel stuck in the binge-restrict cycle. Available in all 50 states.
You already know what to eat.
Together, we’ll rewire the patterns behind how you eat, so calmer choices start to feel natural.
Maybe it's the bag of chips after a long workday, the drive-through on the way home, or the pantry visits once everyone's asleep. You know you're not hungry. You promise yourself tomorrow will be different. And then the next hard day comes.
Emotional eating isn't a character flaw. Food is often doing a job for you: calming stress, filling a quiet moment, giving you a break when nothing else does. Diets and food rules try to take that tool away without understanding what it's doing. That's why they rarely last.
In coaching, we look beneath the eating to understand what it's trying to tell you, then build other ways to meet those needs.
Is this you?
You eat when you're stressed, anxious, bored, or exhausted, even when you're not hungry
Evenings and weekends are the hardest
You feel out of control around certain foods, then guilty afterward
You eat large amounts quickly and feel unable to stop
You swing between strict dieting and “all bets are off”
You’re tired of starting over every Monday
You've tried diets, apps, and plans, and the results don't stick
You're successful in other areas of life and frustrated that food feels like the one thing you can't figure out
You want a calmer, more trusting relationship with food and your body
What we work on together
Understanding your triggers: the emotions, situations, and times of day that lead to eating, and what's underneath them
Understanding the binge-restrict cycle: how restriction, stress, and emotions feed binge and overeating patterns
Reconnecting with hunger and fullness: learning to tell physical hunger from emotional hunger and trust your body's signals
Stress and nervous system tools: practical ways to calm your body in the moments that used to send you to food
Releasing guilt and food rules: letting go of the restrict-and-overeat cycle and the shame that keeps it going
Eating that fits a busy life: realistic rhythms that work with your schedule, not against it
A mind-body approach
Eating Psychology Mind-Body Coaching integrates psychological insight with somatic awareness. Rather than focusing on meal plans or food rules, we explore why your eating patterns formed, how stress and your nervous system play a role, and what your body is asking for. Change comes from greater self-understanding and trust, not restriction.
How it works
All sessions are virtual, on a HIPAA-compliant platform, so they fit around a demanding schedule. We begin with a 90-minute consultation to explore your history with food, your patterns, and your goals. Ongoing 60-minute sessions then help you practice new tools and build lasting change.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is emotional eating?
Emotional eating is eating in response to feelings, such as stress, boredom, sadness, loneliness, or exhaustion, rather than physical hunger. Almost everyone does it sometimes. It becomes a problem when it feels automatic, out of control, or leaves you feeling guilty.
How is emotional hunger different from physical hunger?
Physical hunger usually builds gradually and can be satisfied by many foods. Emotional hunger often comes on suddenly, craves specific comfort foods, and doesn't stop at fullness. Learning to notice the difference is one of the first things we work on.
Is this a diet or meal plan?
No. Eating psychology coaching uses a non-diet approach. There are no meal plans, calorie counts, or forbidden foods. We focus on why you eat the way you do.
Do you also help with binge eating and overeating?
Yes. Coaching supports emotional eating, binge eating, and overeating patterns.
Is coaching treatment for an eating disorder?
No. Coaching isn't treatment for an eating disorder. If you think you may have an eating disorder, please reach out to a medical provider or an eating disorder treatment specialist.
Can I work with you if I don't live in Ohio or Florida?
Yes. Eating psychology coaching is available virtually in all 50 states.
Does insurance cover emotional eating coaching?
Coaching isn't billed to insurance, but it may be eligible for HSA or FSA funds.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching and therapy are separate services, and clients can't move between them.
