Getting Started
-
You can book coaching, individual therapy, or couples therapy directly on the Services page at any time. No call is needed first. Once your session or package is purchased, I’ll reach out to you to schedule. If you have questions or aren’t sure which service is right for you, book a free 15-minute connection call.
-
All sessions are virtual, so you can meet from home, your office, or anywhere you have privacy and a reliable internet connection.
-
Eating psychology coaching is available nationwide. Individual and couples therapy are available to residents of Ohio and Florida.
-
Yes. Your privacy is taken seriously. Everything, from scheduling to sessions, takes place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
Coaching vs. Therapy
-
Both are collaborative and supportive, but they serve different needs.
Therapy is licensed mental health care. As a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist, I can assess and treat mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship distress, and major life transitions. Therapy often explores past experiences, emotional patterns, and relationship dynamics in depth. Because therapy is licensed by state, it’s available only to clients in Ohio and Florida.
Eating psychology coaching is focused on the present and on your goals. It isn’t a clinical service and doesn’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, it helps you understand your relationship with food, including emotional eating, binge eating, and overeating, using a mind-body approach grounded in my certification through the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. Coaching is available nationwide.
-
If food is your main concern and you’re otherwise feeling fairly steady, coaching may be a great fit. If you’re dealing with significant anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship struggles, or if eating concerns are affecting your health, therapy may be the better place to start. If you’re experiencing an active eating disorder, you may need a specialized treatment team. Not sure? Book a free connection call and we’ll figure it out together.
-
No. Coaching and therapy are separate services, and clients can’t move from one to the other or combine them. That’s why it’s worth choosing the right fit from the start, and a free connection call can help.
-
Yes. Eating psychology coaching can be a helpful complement to GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound. While the medication quiets hunger and food noise, coaching helps you understand and shift the emotional and behavioral patterns underneath your eating. Together, we’ll build the habits, coping tools, and body awareness you need to maintain your progress if and when you stop the medication. GLP-1 support coaching is available virtually nationwide.
Sessions & Scheduling
-
Eating psychology coaching: a 90-minute initial consultation, then 60-minute sessions.
Individual therapy: a 75-minute initial intake session, then 50-minute sessions.
Couples therapy: 75-minute sessions.

Therapy usually starts at once a week. That steady rhythm helps build momentum and trust early on. As you make progress, we can talk about adjusting how often we meet.
Coaching frequency is based on your individual needs. Sessions are often spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, which gives you time to practice new approaches between sessions.
-

No. All services are private pay. Private pay keeps your care between you and me, with no diagnosis required by an insurance company and no outside limits on what we work on. You may still be able to use your benefits. See the questions below about out-of-network benefits and HSA/FSA accounts.
-
Possibly. Many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that reimburse part of the cost of therapy with a provider who isn’t in your network. Here’s how it works:
You pay for your therapy session at the time of service.
I provide a superbill, a detailed receipt with the information your insurance company needs.
You submit the superbill to your insurance company.
If your plan covers out-of-network mental health care, your insurance company reimburses you directly for a portion of the cost.
Before you start, call the number on your insurance card and ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?
What percentage of each session will be reimbursed?
Is pre-authorization required?
Reimbursement isn’t guaranteed and depends on your plan. Coverage for couples therapy varies, so check with your plan. Coaching isn’t eligible for insurance reimbursement.
-
Yes, in many cases. Eating psychology coaching can be paid for with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Eligibility depends on your plan, so check with your plan administrator before booking.
Couples Therapy
-
I draw on two research-backed approaches: the Gottman Method (Level 1 trained) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Together, they help couples rebuild trust, strengthen communication, understand the emotional patterns behind conflict, and reconnect in meaningful ways.
-
Couples therapy isn’t recommended when there’s domestic violence in the relationship, when one partner has already decided to end it, or when there are secrets or active infidelity that neither partner is willing to bring forward. It also works best when both partners are ready to accept guidance and practice new skills at home. If you’re unsure, a free connection call can help.
